eNetReality™ began its journey with a simple goal: to help a college make an experience more accessible to program participants. The program was designed to help disadvantaged young people get into work, yet, the completion rates of the program weren’t as successful as they had originally hoped. They realized this was because many of the participants were not able to complete one of the field exercises required for completion due to a lack of transportation, lack of day-care accessibility, or other various reasons. Looking into it further, the program realized it was not only time consuming to get to the location but it was also hard to get to, which limited the amount of scheduled field assessments. This is where we came in.
Bringing the experience to the learner…
Working alongside the college, we developed an immersive experience to deliver the field assessment through virtual reality (VR). This enabled the college to deliver their qualification assessment up to standard with in-person experiences but with the flexibility to deliver anywhere, even offline. This not only increased the amount of participants that were able to complete the program, but also helped us recognize some key learnings and the opportunity to help more organizations.
What we learned…
Through the process of developing the VR experience, we learned that it takes a lot of technological expertise to code these valuable experiences. From the increase in program satisfaction and flexibility, reduced stress for participants, and increase in completion for overall success for the program, the benefits could actually be realized. This made us ask the question, “How can we make this possible for more organizations?”
Taking what we learned to develop a tool…
With the knowledge of how impactful VR can be to organizations, we set out to develop an easy-to-use, no coding required VR authoring tool. We began (and continue) to work alongside qualification organizations, universities, and companies within various industries so we could focus on creating a tool that would enable organizations to make useful VR experiences in-house without the struggle or having to be a technology expert. With all of this feedback and research, eNetReality™ has been developed to keep your organization’s training and assessments relevant, consistent, and transparent.
